Hermina A. “Minnie” Mauler 1911-2011
GREAT BEND — Hermina A. “Minnie” Mauler, 99, died May 19 at the Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born November 8, 1911, at Barton County, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Victoria (Cook) Skolaut.
She married Bernard Francis Mauler, Sr., April 30, 1935 at Olmitz. He died April 4, 1974. She married Charles Henry Mauler November 8, 1980, at Olmitz. He died May 2, 2005.
Mrs. Mauler was a lifetime Barton County resident. She worked as a nurse at St. Rose Hospital and Central Kansas Medical Center. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Altar Society, and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include three sons, Bernard Mauler, Jr. and wife Billie, Gainesville, Mo.; Gerald Mauler and wife Lois, Great Bend; Alvin Mauler and wife Marcelline, Lawrence; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Skolaut; and two sisters, Elsie Christina Wondra and Bertha Marie Haberman.
A vigil service with a Daughters of Isabella Rosary is scheduled at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at the Bryant Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Olmitz with celebrant Father Ultan Murphy. Interment will be St. Ann Cemetery, Olmitz.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 9 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at the Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials can be sent to the St. Ann Cemetery Fund or Kans for Kids, in care of the Bryant Funeral Home.
