Ileen A. Hanhardt, 89, died July 13, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Born November 11, 1922 at Alexander, Kan., she was the daughter of Peter and Elsa (Ebert) Boese.
Mrs. Hanhardt was a Barton and Rush Counties, Kansas resident most of her life. She married Glen M. Whipple October 12, 1941.  He died October 21, 1948.  She then married Herman Hanhardt November 24, 1953 at Hoisington, Kan. He died December 10, 2007. She was a homemaker and a secretary for Kansas Brick and Tile, Inc. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Zion’s Daughters women’s leader.
Survivors include a daughter, Verla Jean Rea of Wichita; a sister, LaVern Huddleston of Alexander, Kan.; a brother, Don Boese of Hoisington; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home with Loren Dyke officiating. Entombment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, and 9:00 a.m. to service time Monday at Bryant Funeral Home.
