HUTCHINSON — Jacqueline Elaine Bliss, 84, died Dec. 26 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Hamilton, the daughter of John Henry and Violet Georgia (Guffey) Rush. On June 23, 1945, she married Wayne A. Bliss in Inman. He died Sept. 22, 1998. She was a resident of Great Bend from 1952 until moving to Hutchinson in 1986. She was a homemaker and a foster parent for South Hutchinson Elementary School.
Mrs. Bliss was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include three children, Marcia McNett (Marvin) of Sylvia, Patrica Julian (Bob Blake) of Partridge, and Dennis Bliss (Sue) of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Laura Mae Burgess of Smith Center, Dorothy Eller of Bemidji, Minn., and a stepsister, Dorothy June Swatzel of St. George; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, at New Life Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Gary Worthington presiding. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Friday with family to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
