GENEVA, Ill. — Jacqueline Sue Weltmer, age 75, of Geneva, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022 with her loving family by her side.
She was born Aug. 4, 1947, in Oberlin, Kan., the daughter of Harry and Phyllis (Lowstetter) Rathbun.
Jacqueline graduated from Great Bend High School in 1965. She married Kent H. Weltmer in August of 1968 and had three children, Stacey, Britton and Anna Gabrielle.
Jacqueline was a graduate of Clark’s School of Business in Topeka, Kan. In June of 1973, the family moved to Geneva, Ill. and Jacqueline began her career as an official court reporter with the 16th Judicial Circuit for the State of Illinois. Jacqueline loved her profession and was a highly regarded reporter for 38 years.
She is survived by her children Stacey of The Woodlands, Texas and Britton of Geneva; brothers John (Kathy) and Jeff (Lesley); nieces and nephews Kelly (Josh), Lauren (James), Johnny (Jacqueline), and Chase; and many other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jeanne and daughter Anna Gabrielle.
She is loved by her family and friends and will truly be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service for Jacqueline will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with Pastor Rob Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 18 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
