Jake E. Radke 1949 - 2016

Jake E. Radke, 66, died March 3, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 26, 1949, in Great Bend, he was the son of Rollie and Dorothy (Sellens) Radke. On Dec. 28, 1973, he married Shari Lynn Ochs in Hoisington. She died on July 13, 2003. A long time resident of Great Bend, living in Cushing, Okla. from 1988 to 2000, he was a self-employed truck driver.
Mr. Radke was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving aboard the USS Halsey from 1968 to 1972. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3111 in Great Bend and a former member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1118 in Cushing, Okla.
Survivors include companion, Elke Andrasek of Great Bend; three sons, Chadd Radke of Great Bend, Craig Radke and his wife Wendy of Spring Hill, and Kristopher Radke and his wife Angie of Scott City; one daughter, Keri Durham of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one sister, Rose Willard and her husband Lonnie of Great Bend; one brother, Warren Radke and his wife Lorea of Wichita; 17 grandchildren, Nichole, Cherokee, Heather, Allie, Ashton, Gavin, Max, Mia, Avery, Aaren, Shalyn, Colton, Jadisyn, Jaizley, Izyan, Jonathan, and Shelby; and three great-grandchildren, Neveah, Kelson, and Trevin. He was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Dale Durham; one brother, Donald Radke; and one sister, Laura Sekavec.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Don Paden officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to VFW Post #3111, in care of the funeral home.
