DODGE CITY — Janet L. Deets, 62, passed away Nov. 3, 2017, at her residence in Dodge City. She was born Jan. 25, 1955, in Larned, the daughter of Merwyn C. and Nadine Nauert Deets. A lifetime area resident she graduated from Larned High School and attended Fort Hays State University. She was in retail sales for JCPenney at Larned and Dodge City. The last 20 years were spent in the Jewelry Department.
She was a member of the Garfield United Methodist Church and was a JCPenny Associate.
Survivors include, one brother, Don (Tania) Deets, of Hays; three sisters, Bonnie Bird of Larned, Diana (Dennis) Echard, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mona (Jerry) Johnson, of Angel Fire N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned with the Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Burial will be at the Garfield Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Prairie or the Garfield Methodist Church in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.beckwithmortuary.com
