HAYS — Jeanne H. Baczkowski, 85, died Jan. 25, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society in Hays.
Born July 10, 1927 in Charleroi, Belgium, she was the daughter of Emile and Henriette (Vairon) Lesne. On Aug. 7, 1948, she married Jean H. Baczkowski in Belgium. The family moved to the United States in 1957. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 2005.
Survivors include three sons, Pierre “Skip” Baczkowski and wife Susan, Hays; Theo Baczkowski and wife Ilo, Dighton; and Jean E. Baczkowski and wife Ruth, Valley Center; a sister, Emilia Wetig, Great Bend; a brother, Charles Lesne, Belgium; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Henriette “FiFi” Baxter on July 14, 1997.
Private family services will be held at the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Good Samaritan Society of Hays or Hospice of HaysMed, in care of the funeral home.
