GREAT BEND — John J. Brown, 70, died March 27, 2012 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 30, 1941 at Old Bridge, N.J., the son of John and Ana (Schmidt) Brown.
Mr. Brown was a Great Bend resident since 1972, coming from Wyoming. He was a welder for Marlette Homes and American Trailers in Great Bend. He owned a sheep ranch in Wyoming and worked for Stauffer Chemical, Green River, Wyo.
Survivors include a son, Gary Brown; a daughter, Kayanna Smith; two brothers, Joseph Garcia and Mike Brown, and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathi; and a brother, Tom Brown.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10 at Bryant Funeral Home with The Reverend Kevin Franklin officiating. Inurnment will be at the Chase Springdale Cemetery at a later date. No visitation will be held as cremation has taken place.
Memorial funds are suggested to Sunflower Diversified Services, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
