ST. JOHN — John Richard Fatzer, D.D.S., died May 21 in St. John.
Dr. Fatzer was born on March 26, 1947, in Topeka, the son of Harold Ralph Fatzer and Frances Josephine Schwaup Fatzer. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1970, and from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1978.
He practiced dentistry in St. John from 1978 until his retirement in 2000.
Mr. Fatzer was a third-degree master mason of the St. John Ionic Lodge No. 254.
He became a 32nd-degree mason at the Wichita Scottish Rite on Oct. 31, 1987, and he joined the Midian Shrine of Wichita on Nov. 7, 1987.
Survivors include three sons, John Jacob Fatzer and Theodore Steven Fatzer, both of Hot Springs, S.D., and Harold Richard Fatzer, of Tonganoxie; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Friends of Quivira in care of the funeral home.

John R. Fatzer, D.D.S. 1947 - 2012
