LINCOLN, Neb. — June A. Lowry, 99, died Aug. 6 at the Waterford Assisted Living in Lincoln, Neb. Born April 6, 1913 in Gypsum, she was the daughter of Fred and Adelia (Issacson) Eagles. On Aug. 18, 1934 she married George Lowery in Great Bend. He died on June 13, 1989. A long-time resident of Hoisington, moving to Lincoln, Neb. in 2008, she was a nurses’s aide at Clara Barton Hospital retiring after 35 years.
Mrs. Lowry was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hoisington.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Waggoner of Lincoln, Neb.; six grandchildren, Connie Purnell and Bob, Chris and Cai Lowry, Kelly and Greg Johnson, Kim and Rick Mumford, Angie and Brad Drake, Phillip and Kelly Cronister; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Gary Lowry; and a great-grandson, Anthony Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington with the Rev. Kris Brinlee officiating. Inurnment will be at the Hoisington Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Clara Barton Foundation in care of the funeral home.
