MACKSVILLE — Karen Lee Wellman, age 74, passed away Apr. 14, 2018 in Wichita, Kan. She was born on Jan. 6, 1944 in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Russell and Mabel (Eaton) Aulgur. She was a resident of Macksville since 1972. Karen was the former Clerk for USD 351-Macksville Board of Education and co-owner of Wellman Trash Service. She graduated from Southeast Wichita High School in 1962 and attended Kansas State University. On Aug. 8, 1964 she married Robert Loren Wellman in Wichita, Kan., he preceded her in death on July 15, 2004.
Her memberships include Grace United Methodist Church and Secretary-Treasurer for the Farmington Cemetery Board, Macksville, Kan.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim Maxwell (Jim), Odin, Kan.; a sister, Betty Linton, Benton, Kan.; a niece, Connie Perry (Jack), Benton, Kan.; two granddaughters, Kami and Kendi Maxwell, Odin, Kan. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband Rober;, an infant sister, Doris Noreen Aulgur; and a brother, Russell Kenneth Aulgur.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church, Macksville, with Pastor Jeff Mildren presiding. Burial will follow in the Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, Kan. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1-7p.m. at the funeral home in Macksville with the family present from 5-7p.m. Memorials may be given to the Macksville City Library or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O.
