GRANBURY, Texas — Karen S. Schrepel, 78, of Granbury, Texas, passed away peacefully on the evening of Aug. 14, 2023.
She was born Dec. 30, 1944, at Luke Field Military Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. to parents Dale and Viola Ward, of Bureau County, Ill. A daughter of an U.S. Air Force officer, she developed a love of travel and this love continued throughout her life as she experienced many adventures with family and friends.
Karen met her husband, Milt Schrepel, while attending Kansas State University and they married in 1967. Her journey continued with his career as an U.S. Air Force officer and becoming parents to Dawn and Bryan.
Karen enjoyed her life teaching in public schools, Scouts, and 4-H. Later as a therapeutic riding instructor she partnered her love of horses with children and adults with disabilities.
Karen is survived by her husband, Milt Schrepel, Granbury, Texas; daughter Dawn M. Schrepel, Fort Worth, Texas; son Bryan J. Schrepel, Grapevine, Texas; and sister, Janelle M. Ward, Santa Barbara, Calif.
