Kathryn Louise Goad 1958-2020

GREAT BEND – Kathryn “Kathy” Louise Goad, 62, passed away April 24, 2020, at her home in Great Bend. She was born on April 2, 1958, at Garden City, to Norman and Margaret (Klaus) Becker. She married Jeffrey “Jeff” Goad, on June 8, 1983, at Great Bend. He survives. 

A long-time resident of Great Bend, Kathy was a secretary at Great Bend High School. She previously had worked as a bookkeeper for Kelly’s Water Well Service and as a bank teller at several local banks. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and coworkers, but especially loved spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her husband, Jeff Goad of the home; daughter, Emily Goad of Great Bend; mother-in-law, Doris Goad of Great Bend; siblings, William Becker, Wanda Marques (Michael), Elizabeth Fine, Robert Becker (Janelle), James Becker (Christina), Donna Mastin (Danny), David Becker (Lynett); sister-in-law, Sandy (Goad) Zadina (Chuck); and numerous nieces, nephews and additional extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, George Goad; sister, Pat Schiffelbein; and other loved ones.

While her death was extremely unexpected, it was in no way related to current medical events affecting the world. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2020, and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, at Bryant Funeral Home. A family rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, with livestream available under Kathy’s obituary at www.bryantfh.net. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 28, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Don Bedore presiding, and a recording will be available to view that afternoon at www.bryantfh.net under Kathy’s obituary. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
