L. Evelyn Harrison 1916 - 2012

STAFFORD —  L. Evelyn Harrison, 96, died Dec. 16 at Leisure Homestead in Stafford. Born Jan. 23, 1916 at the Bethel Community in Kiowa County, she was the daughter of Lulu Wilkinson Hargadine and Walter Hargadine. After her mother died on Feb. 17, 1916 she was raised by her grandparents Alice Hollingsworth Hargadine and L. E. Hargadine. On March 14, 1932 she married Donald Ray Harrison at Hutchinson. He died on Jan. 10, 1990. Along with her husband she was the owner of Ontjes-Harrison Dry Goods Store.  
Mrs. Harrison was a member of the United Methodist Church in Stafford.    
Survivors include her children, Robert Harrison and wife Lita of Eugene, Ore.,  William Harrison and wife Betty of Eagle Point, Ore.,  Raymond “Douglas” Harrison and wife Connie of Sheridan, Mont., and  Donna Staab of Great Bend; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Minnis Chapel in Stafford with Father Robert Schremmer presiding. Burial will be at the Stafford Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the chapel.   Memorials may be sent to the Central Kansas C.A.S.A., Inc. in care of the chapel.
