Laura Viola 'Vi' Wagner 1934-2014

PRATT — Laura Viola “Vi” Wagner, 79, died July 6, at South Wind Hospice in Pratt. Born Sept. 1, 1934, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Cash and Nellie Doty. On Jan. 30, 1959, she married Theodore (Nubbin) Heiter at Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death. She later married Bruce Wagner on May 23, 1986. He survives. She worked as a clerk at Crick’s and also cooked for USD 382 and Pratt Regional Medical Center for a number of years. Her family was her passion.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Abundant Harvest Church of the Nazarene in Pratt.   
She is also survived by two sons: Wayne (Michelle) Gwin, of Great Bend and Dale Heiter of Burrton; five daughters: Kay Mullinix of Kingman, Peggy (Keith) Bell of Topeka, Janet (Bill) Ervin, Angie (Tim) Branscom, and Marisa (Brad) Gwinn, all of Pratt; two step-sons: Todd (Kathy) Wagner of Goddard and Jeff Wagner of Wichita; six sisters: Ann Boese of Great Bend; Jane Mayes and Betty Shelton, both of Pratt; Amy Dinsmore, Granby, Mo.; Ruth Evans of Medicine Lodge, and Molly Likens of Hutchinson; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, son Aaron Matthew Heiter, grandson Joshua Ray Gaunt, and a brother Frank Doty.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Abundant Harvest Church of the Nazarene, 1120 Glenarm, Pratt, with Pastor Scott Powell and Chaplain Ron Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Pratt. Visitation will be from  9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday, at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
