Laverne Bunny Tomanek 1933-2011

WAKEENEY — Laverne “Bunny” Tomanek, 78, died July 12, 2011 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.
He was born March 9, 1933 at Collyer, the daughter of Fred Eugene Tomanek and Rose Katherine (Power) Tomanek.
He married Darlene (Nemechek) Tomanek October 20, 1952. He worked for Malsam Terracing, WaKeeney. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include his wife Darlene, of the home; a son, Eddie Tomanek, Topeka; four daughters, Pam Ehlts, Salina; Peggy Smith, Great Bend; Judy Jordan, Pueblo, Colo.; and Rita Mernagh, Wichita; a sister, Maxine Lindsay, Hays, and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Danny Ray Tomanek and Rodney Tomanek, and a grandson, Joseph Axman.
A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15 at the Schmitt Funeral Home. Interment will be at Christ The King Cemetery, Wakeeney. Visitation and a vigil service was held Thursday at the Schmitt Funeral Home.
