BURDETT— Leora Lou Steffen, 81, left this world on December 23, at Larned Healthcare Center. Born Sept. 30, 1931 in Larned, she was the daughter of Eldon S. and Luella Marie Bauer Lynam. On Aug. 13, 1950, she married Cecil Raymond Steffen in Burdett. He died on Aug. 16, 2011. A longtime resident of Burdett, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Steffen was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Shiley E.H.U., the Burdett Seniors, all of Burdett.
Survivors include her mother, Luella M. Lynam of Jetmore; three daughters, Louise and husband Mark Templin, of Andover, Janet and husband Bill Fleske, of Pawnee Rock and Susan and husband Jim Snodgrass, of Rozel; one sister, Ellen Marie Meyer of Salina; five grandchildren, Brian and Mark Fleske, Henry and Charles Snodgrass and Marcus Luke Templin; and seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Jordan, Brooklyn and Mason Fleske, Lane, Lauryn and Emaily Snodgrass. She was preceded in death by her husband; and father.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Burdett with Pastor Brad McCoy presiding. Burial will be at Browns Grove Cemetery in Burdett. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Morell Funeral Home in Larned. Memorials may be sent to Burdett United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
