Lois Jean Starbuck, 90, passed away May 19, 2021, at Brookdale Senior Living, Great Bend. She was born Dec. 20, 1930, at Russell, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Strecker) Wolf. She married Billy Eugene Starbuck Oct. 28, 1951, at Russell. He died April 7, 2012.
A resident of Great Bend since 1977, Jean was a bank teller for American State Bank. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed walking, word searches and puzzles. Jean especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include, three daughters, Cindy Popp and late husband Don of Omaha, Julie Urban and husband Marvin, and Terri Stapleton and husband Bob, all of Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Shane Popp, Jeremy Popp, Stephanie Tiritilli, Cory Urban, Heath Urban, Dylan Ellis and Dustin Ellis; and 14 great grandchildren, Sophie Popp, Luke Popp, Kaden Lindsay, Anna Tiritilli, Sophia Tiritilli, Cade Urban, Reid Urban, Kaleb Urban, Daehlyn Ellis, Dylan Ellis Jr., Devyn Ellis, Danyca Ellis, Dentri Ellis and Degan Ellis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Starbuck; a brother, Rex Wolf; and a sister Fern McDowell.
Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Reverend Morita Truman presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to First United Methodist Church and Kindred Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
