Lowell D. Darcey, 80, passed away on Jan. 13, 2020, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. He was born on May 5, 1939, to James and Marguerite (Flick) Darcey. He married Sandra Freeburg on Oct. 18, 1964, in Pawnee Rock. She survives.
A previous Belleville resident from 1970-1983, Lowell resided in Great Bend. He was a stockman and auctioneer, owning and operating the Belleville Livestock Commission Company, LSD Cattle Company and Cedar Vale Livestock Commission Company. He was a member of the Methodist faith and 4-H in his younger years. Later in life, he enjoyed the company of his neighbors and close friends.
Survivors include, his wife Sandra of the home; a daughter, Jama Nicholas of Hoisington; two brothers, Lynn Darcey and wife Barbara of Newton and Ronald Darcey and wife Virginia of Wichita; and two grandsons, Brody Nicholas and Braxton Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Reverend Morita Truman presiding.
