TROUSDALE — Mareita Eloise Johnson, 87, of Trousdale, Kan., passed away June 8, 2023, Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born April 30, 1936, in rural Macksville, Kan., the daughter of Harry Cecil Johnson and Nellie Marie Johnson. Mareita resided in Trousdale and Macksville most of her life. She graduated from Trousdale High School with the class of 1954.
Mareita was a professional secretary, bank teller, and home health aide in many communities. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mareita enjoyed knitting, reading, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Michael Johnson of Lyons, Kan.; sister, Louise Snook of Great Bend, Kan.; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Johnson both of Lyons, Kan. Mareita is preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings, Cecil, Dwayne, Coila, and Phyllis.
A service will be held at a later date. The family suggest memorials be given to Birzer Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
