Margaret Rose Campbell, 73, died July 31 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born March 30, 1940, in Odin, she was the daughter of Lawrence Ernest and Mary Margaret (Lewis) Debes. On April 4, 1961, she married Gary Lee Campbell in Great Bend, A resident of Great Bend since 1959, coming from Bushton, she was employed as a custodian for Great Bend USD 428 and had worked in the District Education Office.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; four sons, Gary Wayne Campbell and wife Deidre, Tony Campbell and wife Brenda, Darrin Campbell and wife Jeanette, and Trevor Campbell and wife Angela, all of Great Bend; one daughter, Diana Blake of Kearney, Mo.; one sister, Germaine Carey of Monett, Mo.; four brothers, Lawrence Debes of Larned, Justin Debes and Jim Debes, both of Great Bend, and Kevin Debes of Pierce City, Mo; 10 grandchildren, Garrett Campbell, Emerson Campbell, Trista Girard, Nikki Blake, Sarah Schwartz, Sabrina Campbell, Savana Campbell, Evan Campbell, Anna Campbell, and Katie Schlochtermeier; and two great-grandchildren, Braden Hertel and Liam Schwartz. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome Debes and Mike Debes; and by one sister, Rita Bethel.
Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m., Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association, in care of the funeral home.
