LARNED — Marjorie June Dawes, 75, passed away Nov. 1, 2015, at Kenwood Plaza in St. John after a long illness. Born Feb. 19, 1940, in Grainfield, she was the daughter of Philip and Velma Wolf. A long-time resident of Larned, she was a retired diet technician from Larned State Hospital. She also helped many people as an independent professional tax preparer, having gained experience as a legal secretary for Morgan Wright Law Office in her early career.
Marjorie was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a sister, Juanita Stillings of Phoenix, Ariz.; two children, Karen (Mark) Klaus, of O’Fallon, Mo. and Michael (Dana) Dawes, of Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Karisa) Stude, of Larned, Tyrone (Kara), of Palm Habor, Fla., Chelsea Klaus of Winston-Salem, N.C., Shannon Klaus of Berkeley, Calif., Erica Klaus of O’Fallon, Mo., and Grant and Nate Dawes of Great Bend; five great-grandchildren, Angelina, Alexis and Natalie Stude, of Larned, and Oliver and Clark Stude, of Palm Harbor, Fla. She is also survived by a childhood and lifelong friend Darlene Befort-Medina of Larned. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lorraine Stude; and a sister, Phylise Ritchie.
A private grave-side service is planned for the family. Memorials may be given to the Welcome Inn Senior Center in Larned or to Kenwood Plaza in St. John, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
