LARNED — Marlene Eestelle Isaacson Felsted, 96, died Sept. 12 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. She was born Feb. 28, 1914, the daughter of Edward John and Nellie Choate Isaacson of Waterville, where she lived until her parents moved to Topeka in 1921. She attended the local schools and graduated from Topeka High School in 1932 after which she attended Clark Secretarial School in Topeka.

On Nov. 5. 1939, she married Howard Felsted of Larned at Lowman Memorial Methodist Church in Topeka, and then moved to Larned. He died on May 22, 1984.

Mrs. Felsted was a member of First Presbyterian Church, active in the Presbyterian Women’s work and worked with the youth of the church for several years as well as the Girl Scouts and Business and Professional Women until her retirement in 1980, and Li-Ar-Mu, all of Larned.

For 15 years she was employed by the 24th Judicial District Court as bailiff and a secretary for Judge Maurice Wildgen in Larned. She was also a homemaker and avid bridge player. In her later years she belonged to several bridge clubs and enjoyed going to as many local dances as possible.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Sue Hines and husband, Paul, Salina, and Dianne Joyce Morse, Great Bend; and one son, Alan Kent Felsted and wife Mary Jo, Orlando, Fla. She has 14 grandchildren, Curtis, Rick and Jeff Hines, Darrin Hall, Heather, Elizabeth, Julie, Tyler and Ryan Felsted, Desiree Rome, Janine Ingle and Clay, Tim and Wade Morse, and 17 great- grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Dennis Scheibmeir presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery. Memorials are designated for the Pawnee County Humane Society.
