LARNED — Marvin “Bud” Ruehlen, 88, passed away July 13, 2017, at Country Living of Larned. He was born April 27, 1929, in Larned, the son of Forrest Wade and Kathryn Minnie Bauer Ruehlen. A lifetime area resident, he was a pharmaceutical business owner.
He married Olive Marie Scheideman Dec. 25, 1956, in Larned. She passed away Sept. 20, 2015.
He was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church, was a trustee on the board for the Santa Fe Trail Center and was a member of the Larned Rotary Club.
Survivors include a son, David Ruehlen, and a daughter Debra (David) Woods, both of Larned; a sister Phyllis Neidig of Derby; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Nolan, Nyal, Morell (Dean), Dallas Wade, Lane and Carl; two sisters, June Erhart and his twin sister Mary Lou Henning; and a grandson, Jeremy Woods.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. on Monday at Larned United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1-8 p.m. on Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary. Memorials may be given to Larned United Methodist Church Trustee, in care of the funeral home.
