ST JOHN — Mildred Marie (Steiner) Siebert, age 88, passed away on Nov. 4, 2018, at Leisure Homestead, St. John. She was born on Dec. 16, 1929, at Hoisington, Kan., the daughter of Louis and Lenore (Ummel) Steiner. A graduate of Odin High School and Brown-Mackie College, she was a  resident of St. John since 1970, where she was a homemaker and bookkeeper/owner of Siebert Body Shop.

Her memberships include St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Altar Society, Mother’s Club and was church organist and choir director for 30 years. On June 12, 1951 she married Kenneth T. Siebert at Great Bend, Kan., he preceded her in death in 2012.  

She is survived by two sons, Alan Siebert (Janet), Parkerfield, Kan., Scott Siebert (Dawn), St. John, Kan.; a daughter, Deborah Freund (Michael), Great Bend, Kan.; five grandchildren, Kalla McLaughlin, KC, Mo., Emily Shryock (Brent), Augusta, Kan., Hayley Siebert, Parkerfield, Kan., Molly Siebert, Denver, Colo., Payton Siebert, St. John, Kan.; a great granddaughter, Ember Shryock, Augusta, Kan.  She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; and two brothers, Merle and Dean Steiner.  

Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 from 1-7p.m. with Rosary starting 7p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, St. John, Kan., with Father Michael Klag. Burial will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, Kan.  Memorials may be given to St. John The Apostle Catholic Church or Sunflower Senior Center in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
