GREAT BEND — Muriel Belcher, 78, died Aug. 14, 2012 at her home in Great Bend.
Born June 20, 1934 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Harold and Muriel (Dieck) Bertsch. On July 23, 1959, she married Owens Belcher in Reno, Nev. He died on Dec. 31, 1987. A Great Bend resident since 1969, coming from New Jersey, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Belcher was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Belcher of Great Bend; three daughters, Karen Rouse and husband Mike, Great Bend; Kimberly Schwerdtfeger and husband Phil, Lewisville, Texas; and Karla Dotson and husband Ray, Wichita; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thusrady at the Great Bend Cemetery with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas or the Muriel Belcher Funeral Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
