HOISINGTON —Nadine (Karst) Deutsch, 82, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 at Catholic Care Center in Bel Aire.
She was born Sept. 20, 1930 in Galatia, the daughter of Herman and Tabea (Steinert) Karst.
Nadine graduated from Hoisington High School and was a lifelong Hoisington resident until recently moving to Bel Aire to be closer to her son. She worked at J.C. Penneys for 18 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Hoisington where she was very active in many church activities. She enjoyed reading and doing crafts.
She married Vernon Deutsch April 23, 1950 at Hoisington. He preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, Brad Deutsch and wife Sheryl, Wichita; Bruce Deutsch and wife Becky, Livonia, Mich.; a daughter, Brenda Kintz and husband Steve, Cicero, Ind.; two brothers: Herman Karst and wife Joyce, Casper, Wyo., Wayne Karst and wife Karen, Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Christabelle Cuthrell.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Hoisington with Rev. Mark Lovett officiating. Burial will follow at Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington.
