SCOTT CITY — Norman G. Medina, 58, passed away on Oct. 2, 2016, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City. Born Jan. 26, 1958, in Scott City, he was the son of Jess and Dolores Torrez Medina. A resident of Scott City since 2013, moving from Garden City, he was the owner and operator of his trucking company, Pure Country, and then worked for CHS for the past six years. On May 16, 2010, he married Cynthia Bitner in Reno, Nev. She survives.
Mr. Medina was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Vets for Veterans and the Patriot Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Medina of Scott City; three sons, Justin and Kristy Medina of Jacksonville, Fla., Jared and Glenda Medina of Hawaii, and Steven and Leslie Medina of Belleville; two daughters, Jennifer Medina of Lake Michigan, Mich., and Audrey Medina of Scott City; his mother, Dolores Medina of Great Bend; one brother, Jess and Carmen Medina of Sublette; two sisters, Rita and Dennis Smith of Weskan, and Sara and Gary Pletcher of Great Bend; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Celia Jane Medina.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City with Fr. Bernard Felix presiding. Inurnment will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the Weskan Cemetery in Weskan. Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. There will be no calling time. Memorials may be given to the Heartland Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.
