ELLINWOOD— Oliver Glenn Jackson, 90, died March 16, 2015 at Abilene Memorial Hospital in Abilene. Born June 24, 1924 in rural Bronson, he was the son of Arthur Glenn and Esther Ruth (Reynolds) Jackson.
He was a lifetime resident of Kansas including 40 years in Ellinwood. He married wife Frances Lucille (Colgin) on Aug. 22, 1948 in Kincaid. Glenn was a District Superintendent for Kaiser-Francis Oil Company in Tulsa, Okla., and oversaw the Kansas and Nebraska areas. His memberships included the American Legion, VFW, and the United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the US Army and was able to take the Honor Flight to Washington D.C to see the WW2 memorial.
Survivors include wife, Frances Lucille Jackson, Ellinwood; sons, L.W (Butch) and wife Mary Jackson, Great Bend, and Dennis and wife Diana Jackson, Russell; brothers, Cecil and wife Dottie Jackson, and James and wife Maxine Jackson; and sisters, Virginia Henderson and Dorothy Dice. Other survivors include grandchildren Kristin Harris, Jenny Hughes, Miles Jackson, Lacey Valdez, and Chris Jackson; and great-grandchildren Dakota Hughes, Wyatt Hughes, Brady Jackson, Hunter Valdez, and Jackson Valdez. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lorene Mann and Katheryn Deer.
Funeral services will be held at the Ellinwood United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Janet Myers presiding. There will be a visitation at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood on Wednesday March 18 from 1-7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-7 p.m..
