WICHITA — Paul Edward Spacil, 71, passed away Jan. 27, 2017, in Wichita. He was born in Great Bend and raised in Ellinwood. He retired in 2011 after 42 years of service as a teacher, administrator and adjunct professor in the Wichita Public Schools and Catholic Diocese of Wichita. Up to his passing, he had also served as Credit Union of America Board Chairman.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Candi (Ruiz); son, Todd of Wichita; brother, Leon (Carole) Spacil of Omaha, Neb.; and sister, Ann Haremza of Larned. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mildred (Simpson) Spacil; sisters, June I. (Marty) Harshberger and Judith L. Spacil.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
