Paul Ray Bishop, 72, died Monday, May 9, at home in Great Bend. Born Jan. 15, 1944 at Ingram, Ark., he was the son of Cloys William and Nova Neaomi (Hayes) Bishop.
Paul married Karen Sue Schremmer Aug. 24, 1968 at Great Bend. He was a salesman for Doonan GMC.
Mr. Bishop was a Great Bend, Kansas resident since 1967 coming from Timken. He was a United States Army veteran, stationed in Germany. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Hoisington Horseshoe Club. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Sue Bishop, of the home; two sisters: Betty Chlumsky of Great Bend, and Willie Ellis and her husband John of Parsons. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cherie Ann Bishop and Tammy Sue Bishop.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Officiant will be Father Don Bedore. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 11 at Bryant Funeral Home.
