DALLAS, Texas — Peggy Lois Boyd, 83, died May 21, 2012 at her home in Dallas, Texas.
She was born May 10, 1929 at Pampa, Texas, the daughter of Alva Austin and Marjorie Edith (Ramsey) Shank.
She married Henry Douglas “Doug” Boyd July 22, 1951 at Great Bend. He died Nov. 24, 1998.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Boyd was a Great Bend resident since 1938 coming from Pampa, Texas, living the past few years in Dallas near her daughter. She was a member of First Christian Church and was active in many women’s groups. She was a loving mother and grandmother, devoted to her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Kim Leigh Boyd, Dallas, Texas; Lisa Ann Boyd and husband Roger Boeken, Lawrence; Sally Jo Hooper and husband Jim, Round Rock, Texas; two grandchildren, Austin James Hooper and Cameron Douglas Hooper.
A Funeral Service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home The Reverend William F. Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Humane Society or the First Christian Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
