CLAFLIN — Perry J. Krier, 62, died June 2, 2024, at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita, Kan. He was born May 20, 1962, in Hoisington, Kan., the son of Bernard J. and Marilyn R. (Straub) Krier. Perry graduated from Claflin High School in 1980 and then attended Barton County Community College.
A lifetime Claflin resident, Perry began working at DS & W Well Service and then later was co-owner of Claflin Pump & Supply. He later worked as a salesman for Straub International and finally retired from Great Bend Farm Equipment.
Perry was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus Council #1500. He was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone or just spend some time in good conversation. He enjoyed serving with the Claflin EMS and the Fire Department. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, cheering on the Claflin sports or his favorite K-State Wildcats. His favorite sport of all though was golf and he spent many hours on the course with family and friends.
He is survived by three brothers, Roger Krier (Beth Rein) of Great Bend, Bryan Krier (Sandy) of Wichita, and Kirby Krier (Kathy) of Claflin; and 15 nieces and nephews, and 31 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the funeral home. Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church celebrated by Father Paschal Klein. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Claflin, Kan. Memorials may be made to the Claflin Ambulance Fund in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington KS 67544.
