LYONS — Phillip Alan Knight, 56, died on Aug. 22, 2016, at The Denver Hospice at Denver, Colo. Born on April 4, 1960, he was the son of Kenneth E. and Jo Anna McCoy Knight at Scott City. He was a lifetime Lyons resident. In 1968 he graduated from Lyons High School with and in 1982 from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. On June 1, 1980, he married Susan Annette Curtis at Prairie Village. He was a farmer/cattleman.
Mr. Knight was a member of Faith Bible Church in Lyons, the Kansas Livestock Association, and AGR at Kansas State University.
Survivors include his wife, Susan of the home; son, Aaron Knight and Leanna, of Olathe; two daughters, Amanda Dynneson and Eric, of Erie, Colo., and Alisha Narvaez and Andrew, of East Stroudsburg, Pa.; five grandchildren; his father, Kenneth Knight and Tamara of Lyons; two brothers, Mark Knight and Sherri, and John Knight, both of Lyons; and two sisters, Kathryn Maxwell and Mark, of Manhattan, and Judith Hutton of Wichita. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Anna McCoy Knight.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Faith Bible Church in Lyons with the Rev. Phil Green officiating. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, with family present from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Birzer Funeral Home in Lyons. Memorials are suggested to Faith Bible Church or Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer’s Network in care of the funeral home.
