HUTCHINSON – Phyllis E. Ankerholz Fimple, went to be with her Lord and loved ones Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Hospice and Homecare of Reno County, Hutchinson. Born Aug. 11, 1922, at Augusta, she was the daughter of Bertram H. and Flora E. (Fitzwilliam) St. Clair. She married Lawrence H. Ankerholz Nov. 20, 1941, at Salem, Ill. He died Dec. 7, 1983. She then married Rufus P. Fimple Jan. 15, 1994, at Great Bend.
Having lived in Great Bend, Lyons and Hutchinson, she was a homemaker and worked as a Retail Clerk at Purdy’s Jewelers, Gambles and S.H.E. Shoppe. She was a 1940 graduate of Lyons High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lyons and Great Bend, and the Red Hat Society of Lyons.
Survivors include: Husband, Rufus P. Fimple, Hutchinson; daughter, Sonya Ankerholz-Potts and Husband Bede Potts, Warilla, NSW, Australia; son, Kreg Ankerholz and wife Tina, Wichita; daughter, Joy Ankerholz, Hutchinson; two step-sons, Bob Fimple and wife Karla, Wichita, and Andy Fimple, Great Bend; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry St. Clair and wife Jan, Indiana; and one sister, Joanne Smith, Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents; two daughters, Shelley T. Ankerholz and Phyllis G. Ankerholz; one Son, Larry D. Ankerholz; one granddaughter, Wendy Ann Ankerholz; six brothers, Matt, Ron, Bertram, Denny, Gary and Keith St. Clair; and two sisters, Alice Ward and Donna Bryant.
Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Calvary Baptist Church, Sterling, with Rev. Dale Jordan officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Training and Evaluation Center for the Handicapped or Interfaith Housing Services Inc. both of Hutchinson in lieu of flowers.
