CLAFLIN — Rachael Diane Stueder, 20, died Dec. 28 in Barton County. She was born Feb. 24, 1991 at Great Bend, the daughter of William (Bill) and Patricia D. (Smith) Stueder.
She was a lifetime Claflin resident and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Claflin. She graduated from Claflin High School in 2009, and was attending Kansas State University majoring in Interior Architecture and Product Design and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
She is survived by her parents, William (Bill) and Patricia D. (Patty), of the home; one brother, Michael Stueder, of the home; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Mary Ellen Stueder, Great Bend; maternal grandmother, Janet Smith of Hoisington; uncle Alan Stueder and wife Rita, Claflin; uncle Terry Stueder and wife MelEesa, Great Bend; aunt Becky Griffith, Overland Park; aunt Cindy Schrader and husband Keith, Sturgis, Mich.; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Raleigh Verlin Smith, and an uncle, David Stueder.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 at Claflin High School Gymnasium in Claflin with Pastor Daniel Harders officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday 3-8 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, and Friday, 6 p.m. at Claflin High School with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m.
Interment will be at Claflin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church or The School of Architecture at KSU or Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
