Raymond L. Kraft 1918 - 2012

HOISINGTON — Raymond L. Kraft, 94, died Aug. 19 at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. Born March 5, 1918 in Galatia, he was the son of Jacob George and Eva E. (Ehrlich) Kraft. On Dec. 15, 1945 he married Rosa Deutsch in Galatia. She died on Jan. 9, 1997. A lifetime resident of Galatia and Hoisington, he was farmer and a stockman. After retirement from farm life he and Rosa moved to Hoisington to enjoy their time in town.
Mr. Kraft served in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Galatia, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include a daughter, Robbie Murta and husband Dan of Great Bend; and two grandchildren, Danielle E. Murta of Kansas City, Mo. and Brian D. Murta of Hannibal, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Elsie Palm.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Galatia with Pastor Adam Wutka officiating. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Galatia with military rites conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas or St. Paul Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
