HOISINGTON —Reuben James Flagor, 88, passed away Jan. 26, 2025, at Clara Barton Hospital, in Hoisington, Kan. He was born Aug. 28, 1936, to Reuben Earl and Sarah E. (Lolly) Flagor in Deerfield, Mo.
Reuben married Frances Jean Connor-Shreve April 28, 1962, in Hoisington. They were married for 56 years until her passing April 19, 2019. Reuben was integral in the construction of Kansas Brick and Tile in the early 1950’s and was fortunate enough to stay on staff for many years, retiring as a kiln manager in 1995. Never having idle hands, Reuben was also committed to his farming and cattle ventures. He found his joy in the outdoors as an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include sons, Jack Flagor (Shari) of Hays, Ron Shreve-Flagor (Mary Ann) of Pensacola, Fla., David Flagor of Kansas City, Mo., Earl Flagor (Julie) of Hoisington, Robert Flagor (David Kaminska) of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Florence Hulse of Independence, Mo.; and 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife; daughter, Janet Palmer; brothers, Robert Flagor, Virgil Flagor, Don Flagor, Earl Flagor; sister, Cynthia Gonzales.
Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family has requested memorials be designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, 415 N. Main, Hoisington, KS 67544.
