Larned – Richard Norman Schwartzkopf, 60, passed away June 6, 2017, at his home in Larned. He was born Sept. 7, 1956, in Larned, the son of Everett E. and Georgia A. Ellis Schwartzkopf. A lifetime area resident, he was the graphic designer at Tiller and Toiler Newspaper in Larned. He was a 1974 graduate of Great Bend High School and attended both Barton County and Fort Hays State University.
Richard was a member of the Argonne Rebels, Great Bend. He loved cooking, reading, genealogy, antiquing and studying local history.
Survivors include a sister, Tracey L. (James) Herold, St. Johnsbury, Vt.; brother, Stanley R. Schwartzkopf, Great Bend; nieces, Heather (Revell) Stout, Randee (Revell) Gitomer, Melissa Legge and Katie Legge; nephews, Tyson Revell and Jay Schwartzkopf and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Michele E. Revell; brother-in-law, Darrell Revell and his nephew Brian Legge.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned with Tom Giessel presiding. Private Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to Richard Schwartzkopf memorial fund or Heartland Cancer Center, Great Bend, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
