SAWYER — Rita Jeanette Doan, 72, passed away June 7, 2017, at Great Bend Regional Hospital in Great Bend. She was born March 1, 1945, to Blain Franklin and Hattie Ethel (Gaddis) Clarkson in Pratt. On Sept. 3, 1964, she married Frederick Donald “Bud” Doan. He survives.
Rita graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. Upon graduating she taught math and English at Norwich schools. She then became franchise owner of Pratt H&R Block for 42 years and Great Bend H&R Block for 16 years.
Rita was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha of Medicine Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going on wildflower tours.
She is survived by her son, Eric (Jeni) Doan of Great Bend; daughter, Donita (Brad) Frantz of Smithfield, Virginia; sisters, Betty (Ted) Patterson of Coats and Linda (Ronald) Randall of Omaha, Nebraska; and grandchildren, Derek Frantz, Baylee Frantz, Grant Doan and Josephine Doan. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Clarkson.
Friends may sign the book from 1-8 p.m. today and family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 12, at Larrison Mortuary with Pastor Bridgett Clark presiding. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
