LIBERAL — Robert D. "Bob" Faulkner, 83, died on Jan. 17 at his home in Liberal. Born Jan. 17, 1929 in Geneseo, he was the son of Carcel and Opal (Cronkite) Faulkner. He married Mary Lou Robbins. On Dec. 4, 1964 he married Beverly Doreen Taber in Clayton, N.M. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1995. He was employed as an officer with the Newport News, Va. police department, then the Liberal police department, and worked as a clerk for over 20 years at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline.
Mr. Faulkner served in the United States Army, Company 17th armored Engineer Battalion, during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Bailey of Gladstone, Va. and Roxanne Walker, and husband Jeff, of Derby; a step-son, Douglas Naegele of Wichita; two step-daughters, Tracy Carlile and husband Mike, of Liberal, and Kelly Jackson, and husband Karry, of Cookson, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Casie Carlile, Dylan McElvania, James McElvania, Barbara Naegele, Stephanie Walker, Cristy Boisey, Aaron Bailey and Justin Bailey; four great-grandchildren, Jayden Graves, Aaiden Boisey, Makailah Boisey and Kaileigh Boisey and a sister, Anita Roberts, of Kent, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Buster; and two sisters, Donna Caruthers and infant sister, Carol June.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal with the Rev. Wyatt Carpenter presiding. Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery.
