LARNED — Richard H. Lewis, 80, died Oct. 23, at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Born July 22, 1933, in Timken, he was the son of Willis (Tad) and Hazel I. Vanderford Lewis. On June 18, 1965, he married Gwendolyn (Gwen) F. Morris in Larned. She passed away Aug. 6, 2004. A lifetime area resident, he was a heating and air conditioning technician.
Mr. Lewis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Larned.
Survivors include, a son, Patrick and wife Dana, of Hesston; a daughter, Pam Lewis of Larned; two brothers, Eldred of Larned and Joel of Texas; eight grandchildren, Peyton and Gunnar Lewis, Jenna, Zach, Ryan and Megan Foglesong, Elliott Clark and Emily Lewis; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, a son, Randall; three brothers, Harlen, Glenn and Guy; and three sisters, Neva Washburn, Fern Moore and Beryl Buhrer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Father Kevin Schmidt presiding. Burial will be at the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Richard H. Lewis Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
