Robert Manning Rountree    1931 - 2016

HUTCHINSON — Robert Manning Rountree Jr. 84, unexpectedly passed away on May 5, 2016. Born Dec. 28, 1931  at Adrian, Ga., he was the only child of Robert M. and Jessie (Smith) Rountree. In 1955, he married Patricia Mitchell. They had two children, William and Clairlynn, before divorcing in 1966. Bob moved to Otis in 1988, and to Hutchinson last year.  
Survivors include a son, William Rountree and wife Lori of Hutchinson; a daughter, Clairlynn Rountree and partner Heather of Union, Maine; grandchildren, Carl Rountree and wife Jennifer of Otis, and Jason and Nikki Hardin of Hutchinson; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on May 23, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis with Pastor Margaret Gary presiding. Burial will follow in the Otis Methodist Cemetery. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. A memorial gathering will be held at The Wiley Plaza, 2nd Floor Community Room, 1st and Main in Hutchinson at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
