Roberta J. Welch, 70, died June 19 at Hays Medical Center. Born Dec. 29, 1943, in Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of Robert and Florence (Frank) McCoy. She married Vince Latona in New York; they later divorced. On July 30, 1984, she married Jerry Welch. A Great Bend resident since 1986, coming from Nevada, Mo., she was a bookkeeper for the State of Missouri Department of Revenue. She loved God, family, golf, and her flowers.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Welch, of the home; one son, Vince Latona of Prospect, Ore.; one daughter, Lorrie Latona of Manteca, Calif.; one stepson, Lonnie Welch of Nevada, Mo.;  one stepdaughter, Leslie Welch of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Florence Lane of Buckner, Mo. and Barbara Delagard and her husband Dennis of Sunset Beach, N.C.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 23 at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Don Paden officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Balltown Cemetery in Horton, Mo. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to service time on Monday, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
