STERLING — Rodney "Beebe" Harrison, 92, died May 14 at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson. Born Sept. 28, 1918 in rural Sterling, he was the son of Benjamin and Christena Groth Harrison. In 1937, he graduated from Alden High School. He married Viola "Dolly" Fimple on March 9, 1942 in Sterling. A lifetime resident of Rice County he was a lifetime farmer living at the same place he was born for 82 years.
Mr. Harrison was a member of the United Methodist Church in Alden.
Survivors include his wife, Viola "Dolly" Harrison, of the home; three daughters, Carol and Ron Langel of Alden, Pamela and Bill Boekhaus of Richfield, and Sue and Kim Goebel of Overland Park; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and John Harrison; a sister, Virginia Gibson; and a grandson, Michael Langel.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Alden with the Rev. Amy Slater officiating. Burial will be at the Sterling Community Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with family present. Memorials are suggested to the Alden United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
