Roger N. Berry 1949 - 2011

Roger N. Berry, 61, died June 29 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. He was born Sept. 3, 1949 at Hoisington, the son of Everette and Daisy (Million) Berry.

He married Ellen Dietz April 23, 1977 at Russell. He was a lifetime northern Barton County and rural Russell resident.

Mr. Berry was a member of Beaver Volunteer Fire Department, Russell FFA Alumni Association, DeKalb seed dealer, Black/Gold Chapter Pheasants Forever, VFW Post #6240 Men’s Auxiliary, Russell, Wheat State Morgan Horse Association, and currently serving AGCO board of directors, Russell. He was a 1971 KSU graduate with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture, past recipient of Soil Conservation Award, Barton County and 1982-1988 District Supervisor for Barton County Conservation District

Survivors include his wife, Ellen, of the home; two brothers, Daryl Berry and wife Anita of Council Grove, and Richard Berry and wife Karla of Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. The officiant will be The Reverend Kris Brinlee. Interment will be at Cross Plains Cemetery, Russell County. Visitation is Friday, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to service time all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Russell FFA Alumni Association or Beaver Volunteer Fire Dept. in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
