GREAT BEND – Ron “Goose” Zecha, 65, died April 16, 2014 at Diversicare of Larned.
He was born Sept. 22, 1948 at Great Bend, the son of Irvin Steve and Margaret (Krier) Zecha.
He married Donna Rine and they later divorced. He was a truck driver and pusher for H30 Trucking, Rainbow Trucking, Duke Drilling, T & D Trucking, and H2 Trucking. Mr. Zecha was a lifetime Great Bend resident. He served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1975. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, NRA and was a FFL gun dealer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun collecting and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Zecha, Great Bend; a son, Eric Zecha, Great Bend; a daughter, Amanda Zecha and husband Sasha Ford, Great Bend; a sister, Brenda Flynn, Great Bend; four brothers, Rocky Zecha and his wife Cindy, Great Bend; Kelly Zecha and his wife Rehna, Great Bend; Clay Zecha and his wife Kris, Maize; and Kirk Zecha and his wife Jill, Great Bend; and three grandchildren, Skyler Zecha, Alexis Zecha, and Holley Zecha.
Funeral Service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home with Father Louis Trung Dinh Hoang officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, with Military Rites by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Diversicare of Larned Activity Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
