Ruth E. Ryan passed away Dec. 14th, 2021, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.  She goes to join her husband Jerry M. Ryan and sisters Mildred Bland and Susan Mayberry. Ruth was born September 20th, 1947 in Codell, Kan.  

She was a long time resident of Great Bend ,Kan., a caregiver at Sunflower Diversified, retiring in 2009. She was an avid sports fan and loved country and gospel music. She was a rock, voice of reason and keeper of the past for her family. She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and wife as well as friend. We will all have to cheer for her Jayhawks and Chiefs without her. Her sense of humor, kindness, and generosity will be missed by many. 

Survivors include her son Brett Ryan of Great Bend; granddaughter Rakel Ryan, great grandson Jaxson Ryan both of Great Bend; her daughter, Sheri Ryan of Huntington, W.V. and grandkids Brock Ryan of Wichita, Kan., Makenna Ryan and Caleb Hester both of Huntington, W.V.; a brother Gerald Naylor of Lucas, Kan.; and a sister Evelyn Burns of Russell, Kan.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at Bryant Funeral Home, Monday, Dec. 20th, at 2 p.m. Pastor Larry Schumacher will preside. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
