Shari Lynn Middleton, 56, passed away May 7, 2023, at her home in Great Bend. She was born April 14, 1967, in Encino, Calif. to Loren and Judy (Butterworth) Spatz. She married Brett Middleton on Dec. 4, 1993, in Oxford, Kan.
Coming to Great Bend from Oxford in 2001, Shari was the owner and operator of On the Rocks Liquor Store and was employed by Farmers Bank and Trust. Previously, Shari served as a secretary for Jefferson Elementary School, Great Bend, for many years. An avid sports fan, Shari was always cheering on a team, be it K-State football, Kansas City Chiefs football, and many softball games through the years. She enjoyed going to the lake, golfing, cooking and baking, lounging by the pool and playing canasta and dominos. Being the “life of the party”, Shari loved to spend time with her family, friends and her puppies.
Survivors include, her husband, Brett Middleton; four daughters, Erika Loughridge and husband J.D. of Park City, Autumn Fischer and husband Justin of Salina, Hannah Middleton of Great Bend, and Hunter Hisky and husband Hunter of St. Louis, Mo.; her father, Loren Spatz of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; her mother, Judy Houston of Oxford; several step siblings; and five grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brayden, Aubreena, Axlee and Jexen.
Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Danny Ginn presiding. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
