Sharon Jean Louise Royer 1959-2011

OTIS — Sharon “Jean” Louise Royer, 52, died Dec. 19, 2011 in Rush County. 
She was born Oct. 21, 1959 in Hoisington, the daughter of Marvin and Marguerite Schneider of Olmitz. 
A lifetime resident of Otis, she was office manager at Ashley Furniture in Hays. She previously worked for Ochs Incorporated and Detroit Diesel. She served on the Rush County Fair Board for four years, Otis Bison All School Alumni, and former Cougar Booster leader for 10 years and a hair donor for Locks of Love.  She was an avid crocheter and photographer. She always had her camera with her and enjoyed being at the race track as well as helping at the family farm.
Sharon was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and Altar Society where she was the church organist for more than 25 years. You will never know a more loving, giving person than her.
Survivors include her son, John Curtis Royer and wife Sara, Kannapolis, N.C.; a daughter Kristen Royer and fiancé Justin Ziegler, Hays; her father, Marvin Schneider, Olmitz; two brothers, John Schneider and wife Stacy,  Otis, Steve Schneider and wife Tammie, Olmitz; five sisters, Donna Huff and Don Bradbury, Ellis; Rita Pivonka, Great Bend; Karen Pechanec and husband Jim, Timken; Susan Myrick and husband Rick, Hutchinson; and Paula Tammen and husband Reggie, Timken; a grandson, Mason Royer, and numerous nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite Schneider and grandparents, William and Clara Maneth.
A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Olmitz with Father Ultan Murphy and Father Nicholas Voelker serving as celebrants. Burial will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Olmitz. Friends may visit from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. A Rosary is scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church in Olmitz with a wake service starting at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Rush County Fair or St. Ann’s Catholic Church in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, P.O. Box 146, Hoisington, KS, 67544.
